Don’t put those jackets away just yet, Tampa Bay.

Temperatures this week could dip as low as the upper 40s in Citrus and Hernando counties, according to Spectrum Bay News 9 Meteorologist Josh Linker. The rest of Tampa Bay will see lows in the 50s each day.

The cold spell is expected to last all week, Linker said. The low for Tampa on Wednesday will be 57, Thursday will be 55 and Friday will be 58. The weekend will be even cooler, with a low 52 and 53 for Saturday and Sunday.

The high for each day through Monday is not expected to eclipse 75.

As for rain, there will be a 50 percent chance on Wednesday as the cold front enters our region, Linker said. The next couple of days will have no chance of rain, however, followed by a 50 percent chance again on Saturday.

The forecast comes after several days of unusually sweltering heat. That’s when inland Hillsborough County had temperatures eclipse 90 for the first time of 2021, according to Austen Flannery of the National Weather Service’s Ruskin bureau.
