Sure, we’re losing an hour of sleep this weekend, but the weather forecast should take the sting out of any missing Zzzzs.
The sunny and dry conditions the Tampa Bay area has enjoyed this week will extend through the weekend and into next week, according to Spectrum Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez.
“There’s been an area of high pressure in place and it’s just dominated our weather all week,” Marquez said. “There aren’t a lot of complaints coming in this week to our weather department.”
High temperatures will climb into the low to mid 80s in most places in Tampa Bay and stay in the 70s on the coast with a pleasant sea breeze, Marquez said. Lows will hover in the low- to mid-60s.
Those temperatures are a bit above average for this year, but the lower humidity keeps conditions feeling pleasant, Marquez said. Temperatures will remain about the same through most of next week along with mostly sunny skies, but the humidity will tick up noticeably, Marquez said. Slight rain chances return Wednesday and Thursday.
Now about that lost hour. Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday, so move your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed Saturday and be thankful for all the electronics that move ahead automatically.
