Tampa Bay is in for a dry, pleasant weekend with high temperatures topping out at 80 on Sunday and lows in the mid-50s each day, said Spectrum Bay News 9 Meteorologist Nick Merianos.
These temperatures are about normal for this time of year, Merianos said. There will be no chance of rain on Saturday or Sunday.
The lack of rain doesn’t mean Tampa Bay is in for a weekend of sunshine, however. Just as they did Friday morning, Merianos said, light wind streams will bring fog to our region again over the weekend.
A dense fog advisory was issued Friday morning for parts of Hernando and Pasco counties, and some areas reported having zero visibility.
Merianos says the fog expected over the weekend will likely be lighter and limited to the early morning and evening. But even in the middle of the day, the fog will rise to make for cloudy skies, keeping Tampa Bay shady over the weekend.
Fog this time of year isn’t an anomaly. Merianos says it’s most prevalent in the fall because our nights are longer, which gives our nighttime temperatures more time to cool down.
The Tampa Bay area will warm up slightly starting Monday and continuing through Thursday. The highs for each day will be between 80 and 82, while our coolest weather isn’t expected to dip below 64. The only chance of rain for the week is a 10 percent chance on Monday.
