Our partners at Spectrum Bay News 9 tweeted out video of a waterspout that was captured on video off Bayshore Boulevard in Tampa on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, heavy rain and thunderstorms caused heavy flooding in some parts of the Tampa Bay area.

Heavy afternoon and evening thunderstorms are routine, of course, this time of year in the Tampa Bay area. But the rain Saturday was particularly heavy in many areas, including Tampa, St. Petersburg and Brandon.

There were reports of standing water, lightning and windy conditions and the National Weather Service issued flood advisories for portions of Hillsborough and Pinellas counties on Saturday evening.

Expect more of the same on Sunday, as Spectrum Bay News 9 has rain chances at 60 percent.

Rain chances dip a little bit at the start of the work week. The chance of rain during the week will be closer to 30-40 percent each day, forecasters say.
