Cooler weather will follow the severe thunderstorms and hail that sped through Tampa on Tuesday afternoon.
Residents are feeling the chillier morning air, and temperatures for the next few days will not creep past 70 until late Friday afternoon as a second cold front moves through the Southeast. Expect cool, dry air throughout Wednesday with a high of 67 by the afternoon despite mostly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service.
As the cold front air arrives, northwesterly winds will sweep in around 15-20 mph with gusts reaching up to 30 mph, forecasters said. Humidity is especially low because of the high pressure system that has been dominating the region.
As the sun goes down, Tampa Bay will cool down. Temperatures will drop to the the upper 40s with cool wind gusts.
Thursday will look much like today, forecasters said. Temperatures will stay below 70 despite sunny, clear skies.
As the weekend approaches, Friday will be the start to warmer weather. Temperatures will rise to a high of 70, forecasters said. Skies should remain sunny and the air dry. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will reach the upper 70s with nighttime lows around the upper 50s to lower 60s.
