Get ready to bundle up tonight because a dry cold front coming through the Tampa Bay area is about to drop temperatures to their coldest of the year.

Wednesday will start out deceptively warm with temperatures in the middle 60s meeting some cloud coverage and fog. Contrary to the last few days, things won’t get much warmer through the day. Today’s high will only get to 70 around noon as the cold front makes its way into the area.

Unlike most cold fronts the bay area sees, this one will lack the usual frontal boundary of storms and heavy rains. Instead the afternoon will be breezy, with winds around 10-15 mph as the front moves through.

The front will quickly drop some cooler air into the area as temperatures start to fall through the second half of the day and overnight. Overnight lows will drop to the low-mid 40s for most of the bay area, but could dip into the 30s for parts of Pasco and east Hillsborough County. Thursday will be dry and cool with highs around 60.
