The long-standing ridge of high pressure that's been heating up Florida the last few weeks is finally beginning to let up, but it's still hot out there.
According to the National Weather Service, the ridge is showing signs of weakening for the first time in two weeks, allowing temperatures to drop from the upper to lower 90s. That is, however, still above the seasonal norm in the upper 80s.
Thursday will start in the 70s with a few clouds, but the sun will dominate starting around lunchtime with a regional high of 92. Temps will again drop into the 70s as we head into Friday.
There's a slight chance for rain Thursday, but moisture will be around mostly in the form of humidity. As the ridge continues to move away from Florida, a frontal boundary should hit the state over the weekend, increasing chances for some rain and some cooling.
