Thursday's weather should feel familiar to Floridians in Tampa Bay as clear skies early in the day transition into a potentially stormy afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, some deep moisture will be surging into the area, which, when combined with afternoon highs around 90 degrees, set the conditions for a good probability of rain. There should be a 50-70 percent chance of some widespread showers and isolated storms making their way through the bay area in the late afternoon and heading into the overnight.
The day starts off clear and mild, however. Wake-up temperatures are in the lower to middle 70s, but the heating will come quickly once the sun gets up. Storms should clear by midnight, but clouds will linger into Friday.
Speaking of Friday, some drier air is expected to push into the area, but the Weather Service said there will still be enough moisture hanging around to keep the chance for isolated or scattered showers and storms around 30 percent.
Things get a little clearer over the weekend as rain chances drop to around 10 or 20 percent, while the heat stays near 90.
