An hour-long version of America's Funniest Home Videos beat CBS' 60 Minutes, the first time an ABC entertainment show has won the Sunday time slot in 12 years, according to figures released Tuesday. NBC won the week that ended Feb. 25 with an average prime-time rating of 15.1, followed by ABC's 13.7 and CBS' 13.4, according to the A.C. Nielsen Co. A ratings point represents the percentage of the nation's 92.1-million television homes tuned into a show. The Sunday night broadcast of America's Funniest Home Videos, which repeated segments from earlier shows, finished eighth, while 60 Minutes, without its usual Andy Rooney signoff, was 18th. The last time an ABC entertainment show won the 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. slot against 60 Minutes was a 1978 special, ABC's Silver Anniversary Special. Here are last week's top 10 shows: NBC's The Cosby Show and Cheers (tied); Roseanne, ABC; A Different World, NBC; The Golden Girls, NBC; Empty Nest, NBC; The Wonder Years, ABC; America's Funniest Home Videos, ABC; The 32nd Annual Grammy Awards, CBS; and L.A. With Children was No. 24 and the network's highest ranked show last week. Fox's The Simpsons came in 26th. Fox said it beat NBC and ABC with The Simpsons and CBS and ABC with Married . . . With Children. Several specials did well during the week, with The 32nd Annual Grammy Awards capturing ninth place, and the middle and concluding chapter of The Kennedys of Massachusetts taking 13th and 19th places, respectively. NBC's movie Nasty Boys ranked 37th, but the Friday night premiere of the Nasty Boys television series was No. 52. A Family For Joe, an NBC Sunday night movie starring Robert Mitchum, ranked 22nd, while another version of Super Bloopers & Practical Jokes which followed the Mitchum movie, was 21st. CBS' Sparks: The Price of Passion on Sunday night was 38th. Viewers agreed with critics and preferred to turn away from ABC's Challenger on Sunday night.
