The Buccaneers are seeing a lot of Errict Rhett these days _ at the bargaining table. For the second consecutive negotiating session, Rhett accompanied agent Drew Rosenhaus to One Buc Place on Wednesday. Although no agreement has been reached, Rosenhaus said he remains confident Rhett could sign a contract extension before April's NFL draft. "I think we're both committed to getting a deal done, ideally before the draft," Rosenhaus said. The Bucs running back is under contract this season at a salary of $398,500 because Rosenhaus opted not to have the fourth year of Rhett's contract voided. Rhett is seeking a long-term deal and is trying to avoid the impasse that led to his 94-day holdout last season. "Errict has been to the last two meetings because it's always productive for all parties to be involved," Rosenhaus said. "Sometimes players are not comfortable meeting with the front office. But Errict is very comfortable with Rich (McKay, Bucs GM)." In other news, four Bucs have been assigned to World League teams. DBs Eric Austin and Reggie Rusk will play for the Scottish Claymores. TE John Davis has been assigned to Amsterdam, and OL Seth Dittman to the London Monarchs. MARTS UPDATE: Bucs LB Lonnie Marts, an unrestricted free agent who had a career-high seven sacks in 1996, has scheduled a visit with Minnesota on Friday. Phillips faces lawsuits OMAHA, Neb. _ Two people who were at a party with Lawrence Phillips filed lawsuits, accusing the Rams running back of assault, battery and false imprisonment. The former Nebraska player was arrested early Sunday at the party in Omaha and was charged with disorderly conduct. Police said party-goers restrained him from attacking officers. Phillips was released on bail pending a hearing. The lawsuits filed in Douglas County District Court by Lisa Bateman and Arthur Stallworth seek unspecified damages. The two also filed separate lawsuits against former Nebraska player Clinton Childs. Bateman's lawsuit alleged Phillips touched intimate parts of her body with his hands and a champagne bottle. A separate suit alleged Childs repeatedly touched her inappropriately. In his lawsuits, Stallworth accused Phillips and Childs of beating him at the party. Stallworth is Bateman's boyfriend. No criminal charges have been filed against Phillips based on any of the accusations in the civil lawsuits. Phillips' arrest came as he was on probation in California for drunken driving. That arrest occurred while he was on probation in Nebraska for assaulting his former girlfriend. Rams coach Dick Vermeil said he had not heard from Phillips since his arrest Sunday. "I think if I was in his situation, I may not want to speak to anyone in an authority position," Vermeil said. "There's no reason for him to have confidence in me."
