The Blues signed Keith Tkachuk to a two-year, $8-million contract Saturday, a day before free agents can sign with other teams. St. Louis traded the four-time All-Star center to Atlanta in February but reacquired his rights last week."We are excited to be able to bring a player of Keith's caliber back to the St. Louis Blues," team president John Davidson said. "Keith played great hockey under head coach Andy Murray last season, and we are thrilled to have him wearing the blue note again."Tkachuk, 35, had seven goals and eight assists with the Thrashers and 20 goals and 23 assists for the Blues. It was the 12th 50-point season of his 15-year career.PREDATORS: Right wing/center Scott Nichol re-signed for $1.5-million over two years. Last season, the fourth-liner had seven goals and six assists in 59 games.SABRES: Adam Mair re-signed for three years, $2.275-million. The fourth-line center had two goals and nine assists and didn't miss a game last season.WILD: Goalie Manny Fernandez will be traded to the Bruins for minor-league right wing Petr Kalus, Minneapolis' Star Tribune reported. General manager Tom Lynn said no trade has been finalized. Fernandez, an original member of the franchise, went 22-16-1 with a 2.55 goals-against average last season but lost his starting job to Niklas Backstrom.Center Mikko Koivu and defenseman Martin Skoula re-signed. Terms were not disclosed. Koivu, Minnesota's primary face-off man, had 20 goals and 34 assists. Skoula averaged 20:14 of ice time and had no goals and 15 assists.
