A 63-year-old Palm Harbor woman died Saturday after being hit by a vehicle Thursday while riding a bicycle, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said.

The woman was crossing U.S. Alt 19 near Delaware Avenue in Palm Harbor at 4:40 p.m., in a crosswalk with a signal that was not activated. The driver of the vehicle, a 79-year-old New Port Richey man, tried to avoid her, but his passenger side mirror hit her, and she overturned onto the road.

She was airlifted to an area hospital and died Saturday of injuries from the crash. Troopers did not release further details.
