New principals appointed for two Pasco schools

The promotions still require School Board approval.

Two popular Pasco County assistant principals have been recommended to move into newly vacant school leadership posts.

The district administration has proposed elevating New River Elementary assistant Colleen Wilkinson to the top spot on that Wesley Chapel campus. Wilkinson, 37, has worked in the district since August 2008.

She would replace Sarah Judd, the school’s principal since 2017. Judd announced earlier this spring she is relocating with her family.

The administration also has selected Amy Denney-Haskdakes to the principalship of Richey Elementary in New Port Richey. Denney-Haskedakes, 43, is currently assistant principal at Fox Hollow Elementary School.

A district educator since January 2008, Denney-Haskedakes would take over for Keri Allen, who led Richey for almost five years. Allen is retiring at the end of June.

She told her staff that Denney-Haskedakes plans to begin the transition sooner, and could have a virtual staff meeting as early as next week.

Both appointments will go to the School Board at its next meeting in early June for consideration.
