Former Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Leander Shaw dies at 85
Former Chief Justice Leander J. Shaw Jr. speaks at his retirement ceremony. Shaw was appointed to the Florida Supreme Court in 1983 by Gov. Bob Graham, becoming the state’s second black justice and, in 1990, the state’s first black chief justice.
