TAMPA — Tampa police are soliciting tips from the public as detectives investigate a Monday night shooting that left a 24-year-old man dead.LeTerrance Goggins was shot about 9 p.m. in the area of E 29th Avenue and N 29th Street, police said. When officers arrived, they found him lying on his back near a pavilion. Officers performed CPR before rescue personnel arrived and took Goggins to a hospital, where he died.Police used a helicopter to search surrounding neighborhoods for evidence related to the shooting. In December he was arrested on an armed robbery charge a block away from where he was killed a month later. A man who had been robbed of a pair of new Nike shoes fingered Goggins in a photo lineup, according to a police report in that case.The report notes that Goggins told officers he had been living with his girlfriend at the Jayhawk Motel on Nebraska Avenue since his release from jail in November. He told detectives that he was unemployed and sold crack cocaine to make money in the area of E 29th Street and Lake Avenue, according to the report.
