06.25.2014 Fortune smiled on Peggy Weber of Seminole as Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Archer serenaded her at the annual Rays on the Runway charity fundraiser for the Children's Dream Fund.Archer was among the Rays players modeling clothes during the fashion show, and some of his teammates stood behind him as he performed Usher's Burn. It is a breakup song, but Weber beamed from her chair that was placed on the runway after a $3,000 bid won the impromptu performance.Dream Fund executive director Cynthia Lake said the 2014 iteration was the most profitable ever, with more than 350 patrons packing the Palm Court Ballroom at the Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort and raising more than $90,000 for the nonprofit, which represents children who have life-threatening illnesses. The annual event is presented by Bright House Networks and hosted by the Rays Wives organization with clothing from Tommy Bahama, Penelope T Boutique, Don Me Now, H&M and the Tampa Bay Rays store.Players signed autographs before the runway show, which included Anna and Brad Boxberger, Kelly Reynolds and Alex Cobb, Ally Atkins and Logan Forsythe, Kevin Kiermaier, Nadia and James Loney, Morgan and Jake McGee, Anna Orlando and Matt Moore, Allison and Derek Shelton and Ben and Julianna Zobrist. As happens every year, several Dream Fund beneficiaries stole the show. Tampa Bay Rays senior adviser Dick Crippen and the Rays' DJ Fresh were masters of ceremonies.
