Take this review with a grain of salt, as I am the worst when it comes to chipping beautiful polish off of my nails in very haggard fashion. Sally Hansen's Miracle Gel polish , a two-step DIY polish that mimics the feel of a gel manicure without the UV sealing effect, seemed like it would be my answer. Finally, a product that will resist the tiny bubbles and chips that are usually the starting point to all of my practically perfect polish crumbling down around me.I bought a bottle of pinkish-white Crème de la Crème as well as the clear top coat recently. I applied two or three coats, probably from each bottle in effort to fortify the anti-chipping properties. I really tried to wait between coats, allowing it to dry neatly. My results were mostly great. My nails were shiny and strong, and the polish lasted for -- oh, wait, oops -- only a day or two before the scraping set in. Somehow the challenge of removing a highly durable polish made for an enticing, and regrettable, challenge. Yes, I could do it. Yes, there is shame in waste.I tried the creamy polish again last weekend, taking extra time between coats. I avoided bubbles on nine of 10 fingers, but the light polish made the ripples on my pinky finger even more noticeable. A couple days later, after bragging how the polish was still intact, I started thinking about how seasonally inappropriate bright polish was for fall...Katie and Bad Habits: 2, Polish and Class: 0.Thing is, I hate not wearing polish in spite of my compulsive nature, so I asked to borrow a friend's dark crimson "wine stock" shade Tuesday night. I love the moody, trendy color, and the paint is still going strong, resisting chips from my keyboard and car keys. I have so far not committed to making it all go away without reason. Here's my bottom-line: If you are competent at painting your own nails and want to save on pricey manicures, get this polish. If you are looking for a long-lasting polish and you are a person of reasonable habits, get the polish. The end-result is not quite as heavy as a gel manicure, but it's not as destructive to your nails. It should last for at least week, though I cannot speak from experience. For most people, the polish comes off with acetone. The Miracle Gel is $10 a bottle at CVS, but you're not going to pay full-price, right? Utilize the Send Coupon to Card email option, everyone.Has anyone else tried the polish? Does anyone have an anti-nail-chipping solution for me? Comment away!
