A 70-year-old man has serious injuries after a crash on Brandon Boulevard near Limona Road sent his vehicle into a roadside pond, Florida Highway Patrol troopers say.

The crash occurred just after noon Sunday when the 70-year-old man from Seffner changed lanes and crossed in front of a sport utility vehicle, according to the Highway Patrol. As a result, the 35-year-old Brandon woman driving the SUV hit the back of the man’s car, sending it off the road and into the pond, troopers said.

A passenger in the car — a 66-year-old woman from Seffner — suffered minor injuries, as did the woman driving the SUV.
